About the position

The Inventory Specialist at The Kirby Company is responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the store's inventory. This role focuses on ensuring that the right products are available in the right quantities at the right time, adhering to Ace's inventory best practices. The position requires collaboration with store staff to foster a culture of inventory health and to address any discrepancies in inventory records.

Responsibilities

• Ensure data accuracy within the inventory system to maintain adequate inventory levels.
• Train store staff on inventory best practices and create a culture focused on inventory health.
• Collaborate with associates to identify and correct inventory errors by addressing root causes.
• Conduct research and reinforce best practices for inventory management processes.
• Monitor shrinkage and recommend ways to reduce theft and breakage.
• Maintain accuracy of all location codes and print bin tags as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED, some college preferred.
• Experience in a retail environment, particularly in inventory management or sales.
• Strong knowledge of inventory principles and retail programs.
• Excellent quantitative and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office.
• Strong communication skills and exceptional organizational ability.
