About the position

As an Inventory Technician PRN at Doctors Hospital of Augusta, you will play a crucial role in the supply chain management of the facility. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving, keying, and distributing all supplies within the hospital, ensuring that all Min/Max levels for storeroom safety stock and other stocking locations are maintained. You will also conduct physical inventories of all Point of Use (POU) areas according to a defined schedule, ensuring that the hospital operates efficiently and effectively in its supply management. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering supplies accurately and in a timely manner. You will be authorized to transport and deliver legend drugs, non-prescription drugs, contrast media, and drug-containing devices, adhering to the core competencies of your position. Your duties will also involve placing safety stock in the proper locations, receiving expedited deliveries, and accurately keying receiving into the SMART system for appropriate department delivery. You will review the Min/Max levels for storeroom safety stock daily and place orders as necessary. Additionally, you will count par level areas weekly, ensure that POU items have the appropriate barcodes, and perform quality assurance random checks on totes as per approved policy. Stock rotation in POU areas and backup storeroom areas will be essential to prevent items from becoming outdated. You will also check after-hour logs for charges and determine how to avoid reoccurrence, react appropriately to POU “critical point” messages and stock outs, and process all returns to vendor or backup stock appropriately. Furthermore, you will provide assistance to POU Station personnel and address any problems, questions, or concerns at the nurse's stations.
