About the position

As an Inventory Transact Controller at Allegion, you will play a crucial role in managing inventory and ensuring the accuracy of work-in-progress (WIP) inventory. This position requires you to work collaboratively within a team to implement policies and procedures that maintain inventory accuracy. Your responsibilities will include performing Oracle transactions, conducting audit counts of inventory, and verifying the accuracy of materials moving within various departments. You will also be tasked with investigating inventory discrepancies and executing the necessary transactions to resolve any issues. Additionally, you will generate documentation from Oracle or other offline systems, containerize and deliver materials as required, and maintain organized spreadsheets or databases to track inventory effectively. In this role, you will be expected to perform various job responsibilities, including verifying component counts using scales or hand counting, consolidating components into containers, and managing excess inventory disposition. You will also handle the disposition of canceled and duplicated orders, pull and organize materials for production, and work closely with storekeepers or material handlers to resolve material shortages and discrepancies. Your ability to communicate discrepancies to functional groups and prepare presentations will be essential in ensuring smooth operations. Flexibility in your schedule may be required to meet production demands, and you will rotate with other inventory control associates to enhance group effectiveness. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in a detailed and sometimes turbulent environment, and who possess a good understanding of inventory management principles within a factory setting. You will be expected to work on the factory floor, where personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, and your ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently will be necessary for conducting audit counts and managing inventory effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Oracle transactions as required
  • Verify component counts using scales or hand counting
  • Consolidate or re-distribute components into containers
  • Perform job completions creating record of production
  • Perform and enter cycle counts
  • Manage excess inventory disposition by evaluating return on costs of rework, reconfiguring, or teardown
  • Manage disposition of cancelled and duplicated orders
  • Pull and organize material for production area as required
  • Work with store keepers or material handlers to resolve material shortages and inventory discrepancies
  • Manage line returns and/or rework material
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and resolve using appropriate transactions
  • Deliver material as needed to other areas in a timely manner
  • Communicate discrepancies to functional groups as needed
  • Rotate with other inventory control associates to broaden group effectiveness and to support production
  • Prepare and deliver presentations as required
  • Communicate with key functional groups regarding issues such as BOM errors, routing errors, inventory discrepancies, process errors, and non-compliance with inventory control processes.

Requirements

  • Applied computer knowledge and demonstrated skills on Oracle, Excel, and E-mail
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds frequently, reach, bend, and kneel when doing audit counting
  • Ability to communicate by reading, writing and speaking English
  • Ability to communicate with various levels within the organization
  • Ability to understand the flow of material within or between processes
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement
  • Good understanding of inventory management principles within a factory environment
  • Good communication, negotiation and soft skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly detailed and sometimes turbulent environment
  • Ability to work on the factory floor in areas where PPE is required
