About the position

The Warehouse Assistant at MS Directional plays a crucial role in supporting the inventory processing and the shipping and receiving of parts and assets within the company. This position is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency of the warehouse and ensuring that all inventory is accurately tracked and managed. The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for a variety of non-technical duties, including routine cleaning of the yard and shop spaces, as well as moving parts around the warehouse and shop to ensure a clean and organized work environment. In addition to maintaining cleanliness, the Warehouse Assistant will participate in various meetings, training sessions, and development activities to enhance their skills and knowledge. Adhering to the company's specified guidelines is paramount, as is maintaining a clean and orderly appearance of the yard. The role requires the assistant to keep track of all inventory stored at the facility, ensuring proper status and availability of parts. This includes the proper packing, labeling, and tagging of parts before they are stored to prevent misidentification and damage. Accurate data entry of all inventory and shipping paperwork into Oracle or other business systems is a critical responsibility, as is completing daily forklift inspection checklists. The Warehouse Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining and servicing warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and trucks, and will need to have control and knowledge of all parts that are leaving and arriving at the yard. Additionally, the assistant will assist with all physical inventory counting and audits, which occur monthly, quarterly, and annually. Safety is a top priority, and the Warehouse Assistant must ensure that all safety procedures are followed in accordance with established regulations, such as OSHA and PPE guidelines. The role may also involve processing parts transfers between warehouses and sub-warehouses, along with performing other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in inventory processing and shipping and receiving for parts and assets.
  • Maintain clean and orderly appearance of the yard and shop spaces.
  • Properly pack, label, and tag parts before putting away inventory.
  • Accurately enter all inventory/shipping paperwork into Oracle or other business systems.
  • Complete daily forklift inspection checklist.
  • Maintain and service warehouse equipment like forklifts and trucks.
  • Maintain control and knowledge of all parts leaving and arriving at the yard.
  • Assist with all physical inventory counting and audits (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed in accordance with established regulations (e.g., OSHA, PPE).
  • Process all parts transfers between warehouses and sub-warehouses.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ year general experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to safely navigate work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds independently while walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts.
  • Demonstrate clear communication skills and ability to follow directions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge and experience in warehousing and inventory management.
  • Previous Mud Motor inventory or shop experience.
