The Inventory/Warehouse Manager position is a pivotal role within a leading Northwest Houston automation company specializing in electronic monitoring and control products and systems for the energy and industrial markets. As the Inventory/Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the layout and design of the warehouse, ensuring that it operates efficiently and effectively. You will need to perform cycle counts manually and be adaptable, as the role requires wearing many hats in a small company setting. A professional and customer-focused attitude is essential, as you will be interacting with various stakeholders. Your role will involve scheduling personnel according to client-supplied schedules, negotiating rates with common carrier representatives, and running shifts with a focus on safety and efficiency. You will also be responsible for writing and balancing daily bank deposits, creating daily work logs, and auditing labor and billing reports. Strong leadership and communication skills are crucial, as you will be supervising warehouse employees, including hiring, training, and termination processes. Additionally, you will manage budgets and create various management reports, utilizing your intermediate computer skills, particularly with Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Ability to layout and design the warehouse
  • Experience performing cycle counts by hand
  • Willingness to wear many hats for a small company
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and customer service skills
  • Ability to make decisions, problem solve, prioritize assignments and direct the workforce in a changing warehouse environment
  • Intermediate computer experience, ideally with Microsoft products
  • Proven track record in supervision of warehouse employees including hiring and training
  • Experience with managing budgets and ability to create and maintain various management reports
  • College degree, logistics military experience, and/or bilingual in Spanish is a plus
