About the position

The eligibility list created from this recruitment may be used to fill any current or future vacancies in ANY Butte County Department. The current vacancy is for Level I and Level II positions in the Department of Employment and Social Services. The salary range for level I is $1295.20 - $1736.00 biweekly ($16.19 - $21.70 per hour). The salary range for level II is $1431.20 - $1917.60 biweekly ($17.89 - $23.97 per hour). A training and experience evaluation may be utilized to determine an applicant's ranking among qualified candidates. Responsibilities

  • Stores, controls, maintains, and distributes an inventory of parts, supplies, accessories and related tools and equipment.
  • Loads and delivers mail, materials, and supplies.
  • Operates a vehicle to deliver and pick up mail, supplies, and surplus equipment.
  • Receives daily UPS and FedEx deliveries, records and tracks deliveries on a daily basis.
  • Inspects materials, supplies, tools, and equipment received for quality and quantity.
  • Maintains warehouse in safe condition; sweeps and mops warehouse floor; dusts and straightens inventory shelves.
  • Manages and organizes County surplus inventory including disposals and auctions.
  • Operates forklifts, hand trucks, trucks and other light equipment in the storage and delivery of material, supplies and parts.
  • Establishes minimum stock levels, determines supply requirements, obtains approval and submits purchase orders for processing.
  • Drives a planned courier route within a specific time schedule, distributing deliveries and correspondence between departments.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
  • Inventory/Warehouse Worker I: One (1) year of experience providing clerical and technical support to a comprehensive warehousing and storekeeping function.
  • Inventory/Warehouse Worker II: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience providing clerical and technical support to a comprehensive warehousing and storekeeping function equivalent to the level of Inventory/Warehouse Worker I.
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license upon date of application.
  • Must obtain California driver's license following hire date per California DMV regulations.
  • Obtain and maintain within six (6) months of hire, an OSHA-approved Forklift Operator certificate.
