About the position

As an Investigative Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) at Spectrum News, you will engage with your community to uncover and report on important issues that may not be widely known. This role involves a comprehensive storytelling process, including pitching, writing, shooting, interviewing, and editing. You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to creating compelling and accurate news coverage across various platforms, including TV and digital media. Responsibilities

• Conduct investigative reporting to uncover issues impacting the community.
• Engage with community members to gather insights and perspectives.
• Pitch, write, shoot, interview, and edit news stories.
• Collaborate with team members to produce timely and accurate news coverage.
• Utilize various platforms, including TV and digital, to share stories.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in television news reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or comparable television work experience.
• Ability to shoot videos and understand video editing software.
• Effective communication skills on camera and through writing.
• Innate curiosity and urgency in creating compelling stories.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Willingness to travel to cover stories and interact with the community.
• Ability to work under time pressure and flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver's license for authorized driving in the state of residence.
