About The Position

The Investigative (Special Agent) position at the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) involves conducting background investigations to assess the trustworthiness of individuals for access to classified information and sensitive positions. This role is developmental, providing an opportunity to enter federal service while focusing on quality and timeliness in investigations.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Experience in conducting personnel background research/inquiries.
  • Ability to review personnel forms and reports for completeness and accuracy.
  • Experience in reviewing technical documents to extract information and identify discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with conducting Federal Personnel Background Investigations, including sensitive or controversial cases.
  • Evaluate individuals' trustworthiness for access to classified information and placement in sensitive positions.
  • Collect and develop information from various sources.
  • Prepare investigation reports in accordance with DOD guidelines.
