About the position

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity in Trenton, New Jersey for an Investment Accounting Manager. This role is pivotal in our industry, and we are looking for someone who can handle both Fund Accounting and Investment Performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel. This role is 100% onsite in Trenton, NJ. Experience with the Asset Management industry would be a plus but not required. As the Investment Accounting Manager, you will oversee and manage all aspects of the Fund Accounting process to ensure accuracy and efficiency. You will utilize Microsoft Excel to create financial models and perform data analysis, supervise the calculation and reporting of Investment Performance, and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations. Additionally, you will develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness, monitor financial transactions and reports to ensure accuracy, and collaborate with other team members to ensure all financial operations are running smoothly. You will also provide guidance and training to accounting staff members, act as the main point of contact for any accounting-related inquiries and issues, and participate in strategic planning and budgeting processes.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the field of accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Fund Accounting.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing an accounting team.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the Asset Management industry would be a plus but not required.
