About the position

The Investment Accounting Specialist will work within the Alternative Investment Services (AIS) team, providing operational and portfolio management support for private equity funds. This role involves monitoring investment activities, overseeing third-party service providers, and ensuring accurate accounting and reporting for various investment vehicles. The position requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to maintain relationships with stakeholders and service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Actively monitor critical investment and investor activity for multiple portfolios and custodian banks, ensuring proper settlement of transactions.
  • Oversee third-party service providers in posting activity to the portfolios and maintaining portfolio activity in Investran.
  • Reconcile transactions, valuations, management fees, carried interest calculations, and other activity between Investran and third-party service provider records.
  • Verify accuracy of investor capital account balances, NAV allocations, and capital activity on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Validate investor level capital call and distribution allocation calculations.
  • Understand and interpret underlying fund investment financial statements for fair valuation amounts preparation.
  • Generate cash projections, fund capacity calculations, and investor capital calls/distribution calculations.
  • Provide support for product, regulatory, and other audits; assist with review of offering documents for new products.
  • Work effectively with third-party service providers and internal parties to ensure high service levels; raise service issues and follow up to resolution.
  • Perform quarterly compliance reporting and highlight potential noncompliance instances.
  • Sign-off on net asset value and performance-based information on a monthly/quarterly basis; provide daily support and respond to ad-hoc requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field.
  • A minimum of three to five years of investment accounting experience.
  • Prior experience in private equity/real estate or fund of funds investment accounting is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of hedge fund accounting and/or derivatives, or experience with Investran, is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to summarize findings clearly and concisely.
  • Detail-oriented and highly motivated.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Experience with hedge fund accounting and/or derivatives.
  • Familiarity with Investran.
