About the position

Palisades Group is seeking an Investment Analyst to join its team in Austin, Texas, or Evanston/Chicago, Illinois. The role primarily involves supporting the Transaction Management Team in enhancing proprietary investment models, pricing residential mortgage pools, and executing transactions. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a team player, and capable of managing multiple tasks while communicating effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Transaction Management Team in building and enhancing proprietary investment models.
  • Price residential mortgage pools and execute purchase and sale transactions.
  • Liaise with counterparties for purchases and sales.
  • Create performance and investor reports and conduct ad-hoc analysis as needed.
  • Learn and maintain proprietary mortgage database through data collection and ETL processes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for investors and internal teams.
  • Coordinate due diligence performed by vendors on asset purchases and sales.
  • Manage delivery of loan files and ensure completeness of due diligence materials.
  • Coordinate execution of trade confirmations and collateral file shipments.
  • Review due diligence results against risk factors and document findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics from a top undergraduate program.
  • 0-2 years of experience in the residential loan market, preferably in capital markets, hedge funds, or asset management.
  • Proven ability to create spreadsheet-based reports and analyses.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and VBA; experience with MS Access, Tableau, SQL, and R is a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
