We are seeking an experienced Vice President to join our industry-leading M&A team at JPMorgan Chase & Co. In this role, you will be responsible for developing strong relationships with corporate and financial institution clients while working across various banking products. Your work will encompass a wide range of transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, loans, and both equity and debt capital raises. As a Vice President in M&A, you will act as the primary day-to-day client point of contact and lead banker on deals, ensuring that all aspects of the transaction are managed effectively. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and coordinating the analytic work of junior bankers to advance the marketing and execution process. You will refine marketing and execution materials to maximize client impact and oversee the creation of financial projection models. Identifying and managing all risks associated with a given deal will be crucial, as will liaising with other internal and external parties involved in transactions, such as lawyers, accountants, and counterparties. Additionally, you will lead client negotiations, manage the Q&A process, and conduct management interviews to ensure a thorough understanding of client needs and expectations. To succeed in this role, you will need prior work experience in an investment banking front office role, along with experience in training junior bankers. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will need to convey complex concepts and defend their validity effectively. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, particularly in Excel modeling and valuation work, are also required. You must be able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, synthesizing large amounts of information to develop innovative solutions. Adaptability is key, as you will manage projects independently and assume a high level of responsibility as a team member. A professional demeanor and the ability to interact comfortably with clients are also critical, along with a solid understanding of the financial, legal, and reputational risks facing large integrated investment banks today.
