About the position

SWBC is seeking an Investment Banker to develop relationships with municipal and finance personnel to assist them in obtaining financing for securities-style debt. The role involves advising customers on funding methods, preparing proposals, and managing underwriting processes while achieving performance metrics and customer retention goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with municipal and finance personnel to assist with financing for securities-style debt.
  • Work with key personnel to secure roles in various underwriting syndicates.
  • Respond to Request for Proposals as needed.
  • Utilize knowledge of municipal capital markets and bond structures to advise customers.
  • Prepare written proposals and pitch books, and make presentations to clients.
  • Manage negotiated underwritings and private placements.
  • Prepare credit and bond sizing analysis for transactions.
  • Manage rating presentations and coordinate workflow through negotiation and settlement of transactions.
  • Identify marketing opportunities with key personnel.
  • Achieve performance metrics, customer retention goals, and new business revenue targets.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Economics, Math or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in investment banking, capital markets, or sales/trading.
  • Strong analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of applicable laws and regulations pertaining to municipal finance.
  • General understanding of the bond and investment banking industry.
  • Solid relationship sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to network in the community and develop sales.
  • Ability to travel locally or nationally.
  • Possess Series 7 and 63, and/or 52 licenses.
