About the position

Citizens is seeking an ambitious Investment Banking Analyst I/II to join the Communications Team, supporting senior professionals in client advisory and executing capital markets and M&A transactions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing investment banking platform focused on middle market corporate and sponsor-backed transactions, complemented by strong public equity research. The Analyst will engage in significant transaction involvement from origination through closing, working on multiple projects concurrently and interacting with various stakeholders including Managing Directors, client management teams, and legal counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior bankers within the Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, and M&A product groups to pitch strategies or transaction financing scenarios.
  • Assist in the evaluation and execution of assigned investment transactions, including M&A, securities issuance, and capital restructuring.
  • Provide financial analysis reports for investment transactions.
  • Prepare marketing documentation such as pitch materials and board and management presentations.
  • Draft memorandums and road show presentations for client companies.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of direct experience in M&A, Corporate Finance, Leveraged Finance, or Capital Markets.
  • Proven experience in Communications/TMT is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to express ideas in a persuasive, organized, and articulate manner.
  • Ability to manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis with a solid understanding of financial statements, financial modeling, and company or industry analysis.
  • Self-starting team player who can think strategically and excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • High degree of maturity and integrity with a positive and hardworking attitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Full command of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with financial services software including S&P CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, and FactSet.
