About the position

As a Senior Investment Data Analyst on the Corporate Investments team, you will leverage programming and quantitative techniques to convert complex data into actionable insights. Your role will involve reviewing asset valuations, calculating total returns for the investment portfolio, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Apply programming and quantitative techniques to transform complex data into actionable insights.
  • Review asset valuations and durations for the investment portfolio.
  • Create and verify total returns for Progressive's investment portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the Investment Reporting team to understand processes, data, and analytical needs.
  • Engage with internal business groups such as statutory, tax, research analysts, portfolio managers, risk management, and legal.
  • Work with external partners including custodians, analysts, examiners, public accountants, brokers, dealers, ratings agencies, and pricing vendors.

Requirements

  • A minimum of six years of analytical work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of five years of analytical work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field of study and a minimum of three years analytical work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience utilizing the Bloomberg platform.
  • Understanding of financial concepts related to investments, specifically fixed income assets.
  • Exposure to banking and custodial applications and portals.
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts, fixed income markets and valuations, yield curve dynamics, corporate credit analysis, structured bond fundamentals, and market regulations.
  • Proven aptitude or experience with data analysis reporting tools such as SAS, R, SQL, Power BI, Snowflake, etc.
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office with demonstrated skills in Excel and Access.
