About the position

The Global Head of Digital Strategy and Portfolio Management is a pivotal role within CBRE Investment Management, responsible for driving the development and execution of the firm's digital strategy. This position reports directly to the Chief Digital and Technology Officer and is a key member of the executive leadership team. The individual in this role will oversee the entire digital portfolio, ensuring that all strategic initiatives align with the company's goals and deliver measurable outcomes. This includes managing demand and supply, tracking key performance indicators, and ensuring that projects are executed within budget and on schedule. In addition to strategic oversight, the role encompasses budgetary planning, investor communications, risk management, and vendor management. The Global Head will also be tasked with advancing emerging capabilities such as digital innovation and Proptech pilots, as well as managing outreach and partnership efforts. A significant aspect of this position involves collaborating with the Global Transformation Office to evaluate return on investment (ROI) and adoption plans, while also working closely with segment leaders to articulate digital differentiation and quantify the value delivered through digital initiatives. The responsibilities of this role include enhancing and drafting the digital strategy and roadmap, leading the execution of strategic initiatives, managing the IT risk management portfolio, and ensuring alignment with business priorities. The Global Head will also facilitate communication with stakeholders, manage project governance, and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation across teams. This position requires a strong leader who can navigate complex organizational dynamics and drive strategic initiatives that enhance the company's digital capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance and draft digital strategy and roadmap, collaborating with CDTO, COO, digital and business leadership across executive committee and business segments.
  • Articulate strategic priorities into digital initiatives and associated outcomes.
  • Lead the execution of strategic initiatives across CBRE IM D&T.
  • Manage IT Risk Management portfolio and oversee risk management team.
  • Lead and manage overall Digital Governance, ensuring alignment with business priorities and D&T strategic roadmap.
  • Responsible for intake pipeline, resource allocation, budget planning mechanisms and overall demand and supply management.
  • Manage and monitor overall D&T budget and liaise with the Finance organization for financial planning and budgeting.
  • Hold oversight on overall project execution to ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.

  • Mitigate project risks through proactive identification and implementation of risk management strategies.
  • Facilitate communication and reporting with management and stakeholders to provide updates on strategic initiatives' progress.
  • Partner with stakeholders across business to coordinate outreach efforts, brown bag and learning sessions, manage SME councils etc.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and buy-in for strategic objectives.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and issues in a timely and effective manner to maintain support for strategic initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on strategy and program management across teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Foster a collaborative environment across teams to ensure cohesive execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • MBA or equivalent work experience.
  • 15 or more years' experience in a relevant field.
  • Consulting experience in a major firm is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across groups, using an influence-based model.
  • Experience managing strategic Program Portfolio and IT Strategy and Architecture functions.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to learn new content; externally grounded in market trends and competitive events.
  • Courage to disagree and confidence to develop and defend strategic perspectives; maturity to accept alternative decisions.
  • Capable of articulating compelling strategies and motivating peers and cross-functional teams; ability to balance listening and advocacy to achieve desired strategic goals.
  • Experience with Asset management, Investment Management, and real estate domains, managing cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
