About the position

The Investment Manager at Texas Children's Hospital is responsible for overseeing the performance of investment managers with limited oversight from senior team members. This role involves identifying and maintaining relationships with high-quality investment managers, conducting due diligence, and developing risk management frameworks tailored to the hospital's investment portfolios. The position requires collaboration with senior team members for market research and representation of the Investment Office at external events.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee investment managers' performance with limited oversight from senior team members.
  • Identify, screen, and maintain relationships with prospective investment managers.
  • Conduct investment due diligence processes with limited oversight.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of at least one asset class.
  • Implement quantitative risk management frameworks for investment portfolios.
  • Collaborate with senior members of the Investment Team for market research.
  • Communicate organizational information with outside investment professionals and internal departments.
  • Represent the Investment Office at manager meetings, conferences, and industry events.
  • Create board-level materials and participate in Foundation Board meetings.
  • Mentor and develop analyst-level investment professionals.
  • Recruit new members for the Investment Office as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in finance, statistics, or mathematics.
  • 24 months of experience as an Investment Analyst or in a related occupation.
  • Experience in evaluating the performance of institutional investment programs.
  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing historical investment performance and performing attribution and factor analysis.
  • Experience in designing quantitative models for analyzing large datasets, including regression and Monte Carlo Simulation.
  • Experience with statistical learning techniques such as KNN Classification and K means Clustering.
  • Experience with programming environments such as Excel VBA, R, Matlab, or Python.
