About the position

The Investment Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the Investment Department by conducting research and analysis. This position primarily assists the Investment Operations Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of the investment program, utilizing industry-standard software to monitor and input investment data, prepare reports, and facilitate communication between internal departments and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve data related to the investment portfolio and upload it to various industry software programs and platforms.
  • Monitor for errors in data platforms and assist with correcting inaccurate or missing information.
  • Analyze and extract data to prepare monitoring reports for informational purposes and to assist the Investment Operations Manager with ensuring compliance of the portfolio.
  • Utilize investment-specific data systems and software for document retention and market analysis.
  • Develop detailed reports and presentations in response to ad hoc project requests required for executing the mission of the Investment Department.
  • Draft presentation materials for the Wyoming Retirement System (WRS) Board of Directors, its various subcommittees, and interested parties.
  • Maintain active communications with investment fund managers and external stakeholders regarding the investment process.
  • Facilitate and document internal meetings and disseminate necessary information to pertinent parties.
  • Maintain distribution lists necessary for the ongoing operations of the department and request financial data from external parties on behalf of the investment team.
  • Work closely with the Investments Operation Manager to find and create/solve efficiencies, risks, and other processes in support of the Investment Department through an identified deficiency or special project(s).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance)
  • 0-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Statistics)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of investment concepts and the Wyoming Retirement System.
  • Knowledge of Wyoming Statutes and Agency mission goals, policies and procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple database systems.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize workload demands.
