About the position

The Investment Operations Manager at Oregon State Treasury is responsible for overseeing the investment operations team, ensuring accurate data management, reporting, and analysis of various state-managed investment portfolios. This role involves planning, organizing, and directing daily activities, as well as managing team performance and development. The manager will coordinate with external partners and ensure compliance with reporting requirements while participating in strategic planning initiatives to meet the Treasury's business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the investment operations team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data and reporting for state-managed assets.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate daily activities of the investment operations team.
  • Hire, discipline, and evaluate performance of team members.
  • Develop employee training and development plans.
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives and business continuation plans.
  • Coordinate with external third-party relationships for information management.
  • Provide oversight of investment analytics, reporting, reconciliation, and trade settlement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Four years of investment management experience.
  • Three years of supervisory experience.
  • Graduate-level degree or Chartered Financial Analyst Designation may substitute for two years of experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with institutional investments from asset management or investment consulting.
  • Knowledge of investment operations and performance attribution.
  • Experience with capital markets and alternative investments.
  • Familiarity with Blackrock Aladdin.
