About the position

The Investment Operations Senior Analyst role is designed to provide comprehensive support to global trading desks throughout the trade life cycle. This position focuses on ensuring operational efficiency across various time zones, managing exception handling, and maintaining accurate reconciliations and valuations. The analyst will collaborate with teams in New York and Sydney, contributing to the overall effectiveness of investment operations and enhancing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with global trade desks to support the trade life cycle across all locations and time zones.
  • Ensure accurate processing, recording, and maintenance of transactional activity and data across QBE's investment portfolios.
  • Manage relationships with external service providers and data vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate efficient operational workflow and data management.
  • Provide technical investment operational expertise and support throughout the trade life cycle.
  • Administer Investment Systems such as Aladdin, Dimension, CTM, eFront & Bloomberg, ensuring functional correctness and up-to-date information.
  • Schedule and manage workload to meet user requirements and deliver outputs within agreed timeframes.
  • Design and implement business solutions aligned with stakeholder needs and strategic direction.
  • Participate in GI projects and initiatives to support business goals.
  • Understand data flows and their impacts on GI's processes and systems.
  • Determine work priorities in line with agreed plans to achieve personal and team objectives.

Requirements

  • Some relevant work experience in investment operations or a similar role.
  • Experience using/administering Investment Systems, particularly Aladdin, Dimension, CTM, eFront & Bloomberg.
  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent in finance, investments, or a related field.
  • Very good knowledge of investment instruments (fixed income, equities, ETDs) for trade matching and settlement.
  • Hands-on knowledge of financial market systems and technology, including BlackRock Aladdin and Simcorp Dimension.
  • Good understanding of investment markets and related risk and compliance practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing delivery of audit sampling and requests.
  • Knowledge of collective investment schemes.
