About the position

The Investment Portfolio Manager at JM Family Enterprises is responsible for managing assigned manager relationships and overseeing the investment portfolio. This role involves selecting and reviewing private market funds, including private equity, venture capital, and private credit, while ensuring adherence to best investment analysis practices. The position requires collaboration with various departments and contributes to the overall investment strategy and performance reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor portfolio of assigned investments and conduct portfolio review meetings, preparing notes and assessing investment outlook.
  • Prepare investment portfolio performance reports, including analytics, exposure, performance and attribution, and other miscellaneous reports.
  • Source and underwrite new investment opportunities using rigorous quantitative and qualitative due diligence across private equity, private credit, and real estate.
  • Prepare investment recommendations and communicate analysis of investment opportunities, results, and recommendations via verbal and written reports and presentations.
  • Assist in the review of annual capital market assumptions and asset allocation in conjunction with investment consultant.
  • Assist in preparation for Investment Committee meetings including agendas, presentations, and other related materials.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and promote organizational efficiency through high professional standards.
  • Lead projects on research and operational projects, as assigned.
  • Monitor capital markets and economic conditions and proactively make recommendations for investment strategies in response.
  • Work collaboratively with legal, operations, and corporate departments on legal negotiations for new investments, performance reporting, and ongoing monitoring of existing investments.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related investment management / analytical experience
  • CFA / CAIA designation strongly preferred
  • Strong sense of teamwork
  • Exceptional knowledge of MS Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, OneNote, and Shared group Outlook Calendar and Mailbox
