About the position

The Investment Real Estate Banker 2 position is primarily responsible for marketing, underwriting, and managing portfolios of income-producing and stale residential real estate assets. The role involves soliciting, evaluating, and authorizing all aspects of the credit loan process for commercial, real estate, or mortgage loans, while advising borrowers on their financial status and payment methods. The incumbent will develop and manage relationships with borrowers, cross-selling bank services and products to meet their financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients and prospects to obtain information for loan applications and answer questions about the process.
  • Explain different types of loans and credit options available to customers.
  • Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine loan feasibility.
  • Request and compile copies of loan applicants' credit histories, tax returns, and other financial information.
  • Submit applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation.
  • Compute payment schedules for loans.
  • Confer with credit representatives to resolve loan and borrower problems.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements with customers who have delinquent loans.
  • Analyze potential loan markets and develop referral networks for loan prospects.
  • Work with clients to identify their financial goals and find ways to reach them.
  • Market bank products to individuals and firms, cross-selling services that meet customer needs.
  • Review and update credit and loan files, ensuring accuracy according to policy.
  • Manage accounts for delinquencies, credit reporting, and asset quality.
  • Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Stay abreast of new types of loans and financial services to better meet customer needs.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an equivalent lending or banking position.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and job-related software.
  • Basic level proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint; Intermediate level proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of banking laws and regulations.
  • Experience in community and civic activities.
