About the position

The Investment Real Estate Banker is responsible for marketing, underwriting, and managing portfolios of income-producing and stale residential real estate assets. This role involves soliciting, evaluating, and authorizing various aspects of the credit loan process, advising borrowers on their financial status, and developing strong relationships with clients to cross-sell bank services and products.

Responsibilities

  • Meets with clients and prospects to obtain information for loan applications and answer questions about the process.
  • Explains different types of loans and credit options available to customers.
  • Analyzes applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine loan feasibility.
  • Requests and compiles copies of loan applicants' credit histories and financial information.
  • Submits applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation.
  • Computes payment schedules for loans.
  • Confers with credit representatives to resolve loan and borrower problems.
  • Negotiates payment arrangements with customers who have delinquent loans.
  • Analyzes potential loan markets and develops referral networks for loan prospects.
  • Markets bank products to individuals and firms, cross-selling services that meet customer needs.
  • Reviews and updates credit and loan files, ensuring accuracy according to policy.
  • Manages accounts for delinquencies, credit reporting, and asset quality.
  • Handles customer complaints and takes appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Stays abreast of new types of loans and financial services to better meet customer needs.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an equivalent lending or banking position
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use a personal computer and job-related software
  • Basic level proficiency in MS Word
  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Excel
  • Basic level proficiency in MS PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of banking laws and regulations
  • Experience in community and civic activities.
