About the position

The D. E. Shaw group is seeking motivated and intellectually curious students to join our Investor Relations (IR) team as interns in our London office for the summer of 2025. This internship is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the firm's investment strategies, products, and clients while working in an inclusive and collegial environment. The internship will last for ten weeks, running from June to August 2025, and will involve collaboration with a global team of investor relations professionals. As an IR intern, you will engage in various projects that require rigorous analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include enhancing communication efforts, conducting research focused on prospects and investors, participating in brainstorming sessions with colleagues, and attending meetings with investors. This role is ideal for students who are eager to learn about corporate strategy, capital markets, and the economy, and who thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. We are looking for highly accomplished students who demonstrate intellectual curiosity and possess strong analytical skills. Successful candidates will excel in taking a structured and detailed approach to problem-solving, communicate effectively, and have exceptional attention to detail. A client-focused mindset and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. While experience in consulting, venture capital, economic research, or product management/strategy is a plus, it is not a requirement. We welcome applicants from all fields of study who are currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program or graduate degree program, particularly those approaching their final year of full-time study.
