About the position

LMI is seeking an IoT Engineer to develop new digitally enabled end-to-end services that address customer pain points. This role involves conducting studies with customers and testing solutions in a lab environment to demonstrate feasibility and gather insights. The IoT Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance the development of solutions, requiring a proactive approach and a strong technical foundation in IoT technologies.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual hands-on problem solving and troubleshooting with cross-functional development teams.
• Designing experiments to evaluate, summarize, and present best practices, system configurations, tuning, and use case creation.
• Working part-time at an IoT lab space in Tysons, VA, to explore solutions and develop product offerings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of the Internet of Things, Sensor Integration, and API endpoints.
• Knowledge of UHF RFID and Embedded Sensor Technology.
• Familiarity with Network engineering MQTT | HTTP(S).
• Proficiency in C or C++ for embedded systems design.
• Understanding of deployment considerations and facilities nuances.
• Knowledge of RF hardware systems and testing equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
• Eligibility for DOD Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding of Python for data analytics (MATLAB | Pandas | Numpy etc.).
• Understanding of the relationship between IoT and Cloud environments.
• A willingness to take initiative and learn.
