About the position

Splunk is seeking enthusiastic interns to join its IoT team, where they will engage in all aspects of product development. Interns will work on Python development for custom IoT hardware, integrate IoT devices into the platform, and develop software in an embedded Linux environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both front-end and back-end development, contributing to innovative projects while enhancing their technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, code, and test software systems or applications for software improvements and new products.
• Participate in agile development, contributing to project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing, and ongoing support of systems.
• Promote and solicit innovative ideas within project teams.

Requirements

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field with a strong academic record.
• At least one semester/quarter remaining to complete after the internship.
• Available to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of software engineering processes, agile framework, tools, and programming proficiency in Python.
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts, large-scale software architecture, networking and distributed systems, and UNIX/Linux environments.
• Experience working in Python and exposure to Embedded Systems.
• Exposure to Linux development and front-end technologies such as React, and back-end technologies such as Spring Boot and Flask.
• Competency in analytics, machine learning, AI, statistics, information retrieval, and linguistic analysis.
