About the position

K&I Healthcare Services is seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist to support individuals recovering from mental illness and substance abuse. The role emphasizes compassionate care and empowerment, allowing clients to make informed decisions about their mental health. The therapist will provide ethical counseling, case management, and psychoeducation, while also engaging in administrative responsibilities to maintain accurate patient records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ethical and culturally-sensitive mental health counseling and case management services.
  • Offer psychoeducation about relapse prevention, patterns and behaviors, and treatment processes.
  • Diagnose and plan treatment for patients.
  • Complete clinical paperwork including intakes, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Advocate for patient needs and offer consultation to patients and their representatives.
  • Manage medication compliance with the help of the psychiatric nurse practitioner.
  • Make referrals to other social services and treatment programs as needed.
  • Facilitate disposition planning and engage in individual supervision regularly as decided by the clinical supervisor.
  • Plan courses of treatment based on patient's cultural identity factors.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed and consult with other mental health professionals as necessary.
  • Facilitate referrals to support agencies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient charts.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in mental health (psychology, social work, counseling) or related field (Required).
  • Maryland LMSW/LCSW/LCPC/LGPC license (Required).
  • Six months of clinical experience in a clinical setting (preferred).
  • Experience in IOP-MH (REQUIRED).
  • New Graduates are welcome.
  • Preferred LMSW/LCSW, Clinical Psychologist.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with substance abuse clientele.
