About the position

CGI is seeking a senior iOS developer to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our mobile platform for clients. This position is based in our Dallas, TX, Pittsburgh, PA, or Cleveland, OH offices, with a hybrid working model available. The selected candidate will act as a technical expert on a large-scale mobile development project, collaborating with both on-shore and off-shore developers. The Mobile Developer will work closely with Product Owners, Subject Matter Experts, and Technical Managers to build native applications, ensuring that the team produces functional, scalable, and maintainable code that adheres to existing customer patterns. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical outputs, analyzing and estimating work for each sprint or release, and understanding the requirements and current architecture of the enterprise to create a roadmap for future enhancements. You will develop mobile application code in coordination with other team members and integrate mobile applications with centralized authentication systems. Additionally, you will create Software Architecture Documents, High-Level and Low-Level Design documents, and Nonfunctional requirements for the project. Working in an Agile environment, you will adapt to changing business needs and requirements, and be prepared to develop or fix issues to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. You will collaborate with BA/QA team members to create test plans and ensure that issues are identified, fixed, and tested appropriately. It is essential to follow software design patterns like MVP and MVVM to maintain consistent layers in the software, ensuring its longevity and maintainability. You will also mentor the team, fostering customer-centric ideas and innovation, and escalate issues to leads promptly to avoid timeline impacts. Your role will involve effective participation in requirements gathering and analysis, applying your technological and domain knowledge to deliver developed or integrated components.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for sound and high-quality technical deliverables.
• Analyze, quantize and estimate the amount of work for every sprint or release.
• Understand the requirements, current state architecture of the enterprise and create roadmap for future enhancements accordingly.
• Develop mobile application code in coordination with other team members.
• Integrate the mobile applications with the centralized authentication application.
• Create Software Architecture Document, High Level and Low-Level Design document, Nonfunctional requirements for the project.
• Work in an Agile environment and adapt to the changing needs and requirements of the business.
• Always be ready to be hands-on to develop or fix issues to deliver on time and with highest quality.
• Work closely with BA/QA team members to create test plans, and ensure that the issues are properly identified, fixed, and tested.
• Ensure that software design patterns like MVP, MVVM are strictly followed.
• Groom the team and develop the application with customer centric ideas and innovation as the core of every activity.
• Escalate issues and concerns to the leads in a timely manner to avoid impacts to timelines.
• Effective participant of requirements gathering requirements analysis.
• Exceptional applying the technologies and domain knowledge with the delivery of developed components or integrated components.
• Exceptional at working problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires review of a variety of factors.
• Exceptional at triage or analysis of situations for production support.
• Knowledge on biometric authentication and device capabilities like Camera, Phone state, Location, Notifications, Permissions management etc.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with mobile development.
• 5+ years of experience with iOS App Development on Swift, Swift UI and Objective-C.
• Strong Object-oriented background.
• Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, etc.
• Experience with XCode for coding, debugging, and deploying iOS apps.
• Experience with offline storage, threading, performance tuning and mobile memory management.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services.
• Familiarity with app architecture patterns MVC, MVP, MVVM.
• 4+ Experience integrating with RESTful API's and JSON.
• Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards.
• Understanding of Apple's design principles and interface guidelines.
• Knowledge of low-level C-based libraries is preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems for code management.
• Experience with XCTestFramework and XCUITestFramework.
• Exceptional at component and unit testing of following standard practices and methodologies.
• Excel with on time delivery with minimal supervision.
• Strong agile/scrum development experience.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills within distributed project teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Passion to stay on top of the latest happenings in the tech world and an attitude to discuss and bring those into play.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with stream processing frameworks like Apache Kafka or Apache Pulsar.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements in data processing pipelines.
