About the position

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) is seeking an Ag Market Reporting and Renewable Fuel Infrastructure Program Planner to manage programs that support renewable fuels, grain and livestock markets, and agricultural resilience. This role involves program management, policy development, and market reporting to foster meaningful change across Iowa's agricultural landscape.

Responsibilities

• Manage program administrative tasks for the Renewable Fuel Infrastructure Program (RFIP), including assisting retailers with applications and contracts.
• Oversee program databases using Access and Excel; manage grant tracking and disbursement.
• Coordinate RFIP board meetings, record key decisions, and prepare essential reports.
• Collect, analyze, and report daily cash grain prices to USDA; produce monthly and annual reports.
• Provide expert guidance on grain market data to stakeholders and respond to inquiries.
• Collaborate with USDA on software upgrades and system enhancements.
• Manage schedules for field staff attending weekly livestock market sales and ensure timely data reporting.
• Research and recommend new livestock reporting venues for inclusion in USDA programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 1 year of experience in program management or fiscal management.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of grain and livestock markets and relevant state/federal regulations.
