About the position

The Junior Graphic Designer Intern at Iowa Wild is responsible for supporting the Lead Graphic Designer in fulfilling various graphic design requests for promotional materials, game day events, and other projects. This role emphasizes creativity, customer service, and collaboration to enhance the organization's branding and marketing efforts in the hockey community.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of the Graphic Designer to ensure all production requests from internal and external customers are fulfilled.
  • Collaborate and create graphic designs and layout elements for advertising, publications, marketing, social media, and websites utilizing Adobe Creative Suite products and other programs.
  • Utilize ad mats and other information provided to design/redesign content for desired results.
  • Adhere to brand imaging standards ensuring look and feel consistency.
  • Utilize project management software to manage project tasks, deadlines, and communication needs.
  • Regularly interact with internal customers on projects.
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships throughout the organization.
  • Assist in the production of graphics for arena matrix displays and video productions.
  • Actively participate in department creative efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Pursuing or completed Associate's degree with a major in graphic design or related creative field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with InMotion is helpful but not required.
  • Proven graphic design technical abilities with a strong understanding of layout, color theory, and typography in both print and digital media.
  • Demonstrated creative mindset with a passion for excellent creative execution.
  • High proficiency in the use of Adobe Creative Suite; Adobe After Effects proficiency a plus.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to take constructive input/critique from others.
  • Strong design style, including creative design solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with detail orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and achieve desired end results.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.

Nice-to-haves

  • Design Certificate a plus.
