About the position

The Ironworker Leadman will oversee and direct a crew in the planning, layout, installation, and alignment of ironwork, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and industry standards. This role emphasizes safety, productivity, and efficiency while motivating the crew to achieve project goals. The Leadman will also be responsible for training, inspections, and maintaining high standards of work quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise a crew in planning, layout, installation, and alignment of ironwork.
• Identify and mitigate safety hazards for crew members.
• Implement lockout/tag out procedures and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and ensure proper use by crew.
• Review and provide feedback and training to crew members.
• Inspect work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, addressing deficiencies as needed.
• Ensure crew members are qualified and possess necessary certifications.

Requirements

• 4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• NCCER Certification/License (preferred).
• Experience in a supervisory role.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions.
