About the position

The Reconciliation Manager at Inspira Financial Trust, LLC is responsible for overseeing the Tax and Reconciliation teams, ensuring accurate and timely completion of their responsibilities. This role involves providing leadership, training, and guidance, while coordinating tax reporting for various accounts and maintaining relationships with external vendors. The manager will also analyze tax format files, prepare and file tax returns, and review daily reconciling reports, all while supporting cross-functional teams and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, monitor, and assist with the daily workload of the Tax and Reconciliation teams.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the Company's tax reporting for accounts and relationships.
  • Analyze tax format files for accuracy and work with vendors and internal Technology group.
  • Prepare and file tax returns including 945, 945A, 1042, and 1099Misc.
  • Review and approve State Tax Withholding Returns and corrected tax return filings.
  • Research and respond to IRS notices and understand tax reporting requirements.
  • Provide client service to external relationships using tax services and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Review and approve daily reconciling reports and process quarterly reporting for applicable banks.
  • Prepare various reports for Operations to research outstanding transactions and cases.
  • Delegate, monitor, and complete Salesforce cases for various requests.
  • Provide data and information for management to assist with business decisions.
  • Build and develop positive relationships with cross-functional leaders.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to team members.
  • Design, test, and implement new processes and workflows driven by automation.
  • Assist in testing enhancements to the trust accounting system.
  • Establish and maintain documentation associated with policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Previous experience in tax reporting for Individual Retirement Accounts and Taxable Custodial Accounts.
  • Basic knowledge of Investments and Securities and their tax treatment.
  • Familiarity with IRS FIRE file formats and filing system preferred.
  • Strong leadership, training, and delegation skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable.
  • Ability to adapt and maintain a positive attitude during changes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with clients and staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong computer aptitude with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Comprehensive understanding of IRA rules and regulations related to distribution transaction processing preferred.
  • Working knowledge of trust accounting systems preferred.
  • Previous experience with IRAs, Solo 401(k) plans, and other Qualified Retirement Plans preferred.
  • Knowledge of IRS rules and regulations in relation to IRAs and Qualified Retirement Plans preferred.
  • Experience with SharePoint applications and/or Salesforce CRM preferred.
