About the position

The Aircraft Systems ECS CATIA Designer role involves creating and managing airframe structural designs for aerospace applications. This position requires a strong background in mechanical engineering and proficiency in CATIA software, focusing on model-based definitions and collaboration with engineering teams to resolve design challenges. The role is contract-based and requires U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Create airframe structural designs based on trade studies, research, and analysis.
• Develop model-based definitions, including 2D and 3D annotations for airframe components.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and specialty personnel to resolve design problems.
• Mentor other engineers and lead the team in developing technical solutions.
• Execute tasks according to cost and schedule requirements.
• Support supplier and teammate design activities.
• Apply technical knowledge and standards to provide solutions to complex problems.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of aerospace design or related industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred, or related degrees with relevant experience.
• Proficiency in GD&T and general part sizing.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5, CATIA V6, or 3DExperience.
• PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate and lead design activities.
