About the position

The Epic Cadence Applications Analyst will be responsible for developing workflows, system configurations, and training staff on Epic Cadence, Grand Central, and Prelude applications. This role is crucial for enhancing the efficiency of healthcare systems at South Shore Health, a leading provider of emergency and outpatient care in Southeastern Massachusetts. The position offers flexibility in work location, allowing for in-office, hybrid, or fully remote arrangements for candidates residing in Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop workflows, system configurations, change documentation, and train staff on Epic Cadence, Grand Central, and Prelude applications functionality.
  • Analyze procedures and problems within manual/automated health care systems; report findings and recommend options for resolutions.
  • Formulate system scope and objectives.
  • Act as a liaison with all areas of the hospital, conducting meetings to determine future enhancements and preparing related documentation.
  • Provide ongoing support and participate in on-call coverage as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of directly-related business applications experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with health care information systems or processes and workflows common in physician practices.
  • Understanding of current business practices and computing systems, interfaces, and hospital software.
  • Analytical and technical skills necessary to apply computer technology to resolve clinical problems and increase operational efficiency.
  • IT or operational experience in areas such as Patient Registration, Scheduling, Bed Planning, EVS/Transport, Scheduling, and/or Patient Movement is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical documentation and orders databases, data conversion models, workflows, and master files.
  • Proficiency or certification in Epic applications: Cadence, Grand Central, and Prelude is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient knowledge of web-based technologies, processes, and analytics.
  • Ability to deliver IT solutions through the entire systems development lifecycle.
  • Ability to employ software quality assurance and testing concepts, techniques, and industry best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of standardized improvement methodologies.
