About the position

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for leading the design and support of enterprise-wide business intelligence applications and architecture. This role involves collaborating with senior management from both business and IT sectors to understand and prioritize data and information requirements. The analyst will tackle complex technical problems and optimize the performance of enterprise business intelligence tools by defining data filters and indexes that enhance user value. Additionally, the position requires the creation of testing methodologies and criteria, as well as the design and coordination of training curricula for customers to improve their use of business intelligence tools, ultimately enhancing business decision-making capabilities. The analyst will also be tasked with developing standards, policies, and procedures regarding the form, structure, and attributes of business intelligence tools and systems. This includes the development of data and information quality metrics, researching new technologies, and creating business cases to support enterprise-wide business intelligence solutions. As an individual contributor, the analyst is expected to apply professional expertise with a high degree of judgment and work independently with minimal supervision. The role typically requires a university degree or extensive practical knowledge gained through experience, along with a solid understanding of the procedures and concepts relevant to the discipline. In addition to the primary responsibilities, the analyst will provide data analysis and interpretation of results to support the Operations team through the development of reporting tools and data acquisition from existing systems. This includes creating, standardizing, validating, and documenting data and reporting processes. The position is essential for optimizing operational efficiency and quality through effective data management and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data collection systems, databases, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize operations efficiency and quality.
  • Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Develop dashboards to inform business decisions with an emphasis on automation and scalability.
  • Translate manufacturing data into actionable information.
  • Employ root cause analysis and troubleshooting to data reports and system tools.
  • Work with departmental managers to outline specific data needs for projects and reporting.
  • Create, standardize, validate, and document data and data reporting.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years work experience as a data analyst or equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills including standard Microsoft applications.
  • Basic experience interfacing with server-based database systems.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and provide data with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated communication skills (written and oral).
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate.
  • Understanding of the processes and data entry related to standard functions in a manufacturing company.
  • Education or experience in statistics or business analytics.
  • Related experience in FDA-/ISO-controlled environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with SQL or other database query languages.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence software such as Tableau or Power BI.
