About the position

The IS Data Engineer at CareOregon plays a crucial role in enhancing data and analytics capabilities to support business initiatives. This position involves building, managing, and optimizing data pipelines to ensure efficient data access for various stakeholders, including data analysts and data scientists. The engineer will ensure compliance with data governance and security while promoting integrated data reuse and accelerating the time-to-solution for analytics initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain and optimize data pipelines for specific use cases.
  • Manage data pipelines from ingestion through integration to consumption.
  • Utilize innovative tools and techniques to automate tasks and improve productivity.
  • Assist in renovating data management infrastructure to support automation.
  • Partner with other teams to refine data requirements for initiatives.
  • Train data consumers on data pipelines and preparation techniques.
  • Propose innovative techniques for data ingestion and operationalization.
  • Promote CareOregon's data and analytics capabilities to staff and leadership.
  • Collaborate with staff to leverage data for business goals.
  • Implement process improvements and meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in data management.
  • Strong ability to design, build and manage data pipelines.
  • Experience with data integration, modeling, and optimization processes.
  • Proficiency in database programming languages (e.g., SQL).
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data warehouse platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).
  • Ability to work across multiple deployment environments (cloud, on-premises, hybrid).
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure products (e.g., Data Factory, Databricks).
  • Strong ability to work with large datasets and optimize data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and data integration technologies.
  • Understanding of business intelligence solutions and analytics tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing ETLs calling RestAPIs.
  • Experience with large databases and data management in healthcare.
  • Familiarity with SSMS and ADF.
