About the position

The IS Instructional Designer plays a crucial role within the IS Clinical Solutions department at Eskenazi Health, focusing on developing, delivering, and optimizing the training program for various applications. This position requires collaboration with subject matter experts and application teams to ensure effective training delivery, particularly in the context of electronic health record (EHR) systems. The role demands strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and proficiency in instructional design and adult learning methods.

Responsibilities

  • Master all IS applications and Eskenazi Health's specific workflows.
  • Develop and implement the training program for respective application(s).
  • Build, test, and maintain the training environment.
  • Create and maintain all training materials.
  • Train and credential additional classroom trainers to assist with end-user training.
  • Maintain policy and procedure documentation.
  • Maintain the training curriculum and training environment, and deliver ongoing training post-live.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in EMR training is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; in lieu of degree must have 4 years of directly related experience in EMR training and support.
  • History of adult education and successful clinical instruction preferred.
  • Clinical or operational experience (recommended but not required).
  • Successful completion of Epic certification process within assigned time (may obtain on-the-job).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Skill and experience in adult education.
  • Detailed understanding of workflows and system configuration.
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to write well.

Nice-to-haves

  • Clinical or operational experience (recommended but not required).
