About the position

The IS Operations Analyst 1 - Field Support Services position is a full-time role within the Information Technology Services (ITS) department of Metro Nashville Government. This role involves configuring, deploying, and supporting workstations for various Metro agencies, ensuring optimal communication and IT service delivery. The position requires physical capability to lift equipment and may involve working outside of regular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Install new workstations including hardware, operating systems, and application software according to departmental standards.
  • Utilize Microsoft SCCM to install OS images and software.
  • Gather information to facilitate the resolution of incidents.
  • Provide consultation on IT service offerings to Metro agencies.
  • Document known issues and resolutions for internal sharing.
  • Review literature, consult with experts, and coordinate with vendors to identify appropriate hardware and software solutions.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in information technology Desktop Support and the Microsoft SCCM asset management system.
  • Valid Driver License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting Windows 10 and 11 operating systems.
  • Experience supporting computer hardware, including laptops, desktops, tablets, and peripherals.
  • Experience working in a technical customer service environment.
  • Experience with a ticket tracking system (e.g., ServiceNow, Cherwell, SMAX, etc.).
  • Knowledge of best practices and industry standards around IT Service Management.
  • Industry Certification such as A+, MCDST, or MCITP.
  • ITIL or ISO/IEC 20000 certification.
