About the position

As a Portfolio Manager for Commercial & Support Functions at bioMérieux, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the transformation of regional Support Functions. Your primary responsibility will be to build and promote the Information Systems (IS) project portfolio within a business-related domain, ensuring effective execution and regional deployment. This position requires you to act as a key business partner, collaborating closely with various internal stakeholders, including Human Resources, Finance, Purchasing, Legal, and Communication. You will lead and guide IS resources involved in project deliveries, ensuring alignment with commitments and acting as a mentor for other regional portfolio managers or project leaders. In this role, you will contribute to defining a global portfolio roadmap alongside key regional stakeholders, providing project budget inputs to IS Leadership and Executive Sponsors. You will be accountable for the execution of the portfolio from opportunity identification to the completion of projects and deployments, ensuring that all aspects of project delivery meet established commitments in terms of scope, deliverables, costs, and timing. Your responsibilities will also include vendor management, user adoption measurement, and ensuring that project plans are well-organized and communicated effectively to all stakeholders. To succeed in this position, you will need a strong background in program or project management within IT or Support Functions, with a minimum of 5 years of experience. A bachelor's degree is required, although candidates with a high school diploma and 9+ years of relevant experience will also be considered. Experience in supporting commercial operations and working in a regulated environment is preferred, along with solid analytical, organizational, and leadership skills. Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, are essential, as you will be presenting projects and collaborating with diverse teams in a global environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key business partner to support regional Support Function transformation.
  • Build and promote the IS project portfolio for the business-related domain.
  • Manage relationships with Human Resources, Finance, Purchasing, Legal, and Communication.
  • Provide guidance and supervisory support to project deliveries.
  • Coach and mentor regional portfolio managers or project leaders.
  • Establish strong partnerships with internal stakeholders in the region.
  • Collaborate with the global portfolio manager to define and execute the domain global portfolio.
  • Contribute to the global portfolio roadmap along with key regional stakeholders.
  • Provide project budget inputs to IS Leadership and Executive Sponsors.
  • Translate and organize the regional part of the defined roadmap into project plans.
  • Accountable for portfolio execution from opportunity to end of projects and deployments.
  • Define budget and planning estimates and quality targets for projects.
  • Ensure project delivery respects commitments in terms of scope, deliverables, costs, and timing.
  • Participate in vendor management and follow-up on vendor performance.
  • Manage fixed-priced resources involved in projects.
  • Ensure user adoption in projects is defined and measured.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required with 5+ years of experience in program or project management in IT or any Support Function.
  • High school diploma/GED with 9+ years of experience in program or project management in IT or any Support Function also accepted.
  • Experience supporting Support Functions and Commercial Operations is highly preferred, including Sales, HR, and Finance.
  • Experience in a regulated environment preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in a global organization is preferred.
  • Solid analytical, organizational, and project management skills and leadership.
  • Very good interpersonal skills, active listener, organizational awareness, and relationship building.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present projects, challenges, and opportunities to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to lead internal cross-cultural and transversal groups in a worldwide environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a regulated environment preferred but not required.
