About the position

The IS Project Manager at ABB is responsible for defining and executing project management strategies for Information Systems projects. This role involves planning, scheduling, coordinating, and delivering project outcomes while ensuring compliance with ABB regulations and guidelines. The position requires effective stakeholder management and communication to align project goals with organizational objectives, all within a hybrid work model in Cary, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Define a planning strategy for project management activities.
  • Decide on project delivery methodologies such as waterfall or agile.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and deliver IS project outcomes within agreed time, scope, cost, and quality.
  • Communicate information to stakeholders to achieve understanding and support.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and relationships effectively.
  • Lead a virtual team of IS professionals in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Ensure delivery of activities utilizing internal IS units and external suppliers.
  • Adhere to high-quality IS solutions compliant with ABB regulations and guidelines.
  • Define and manage organization and services governance with stakeholders.
  • Execute IS processes according to agreed RACI specifications.
  • Manage executive stakeholders across multiple divisions as an advisor to the IS organization.
  • Assure stakeholder satisfaction through strong governance and proactive communication.
  • Manage dependencies and resolve conflicts with other departments.
  • Deliver projects aligned with budget and timeline expectations.
  • Drive customer service to ensure satisfaction with IS services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Technology, or related field.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience leading IS projects (ERP, Infrastructure, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Software Deployment, etc.).
  • Project Management/Change Management certifications (e.g. Prosci, ITIL, PMP, Prince2, Agile) are advantageous.
  • Fluent in English at an executive presentation level.
  • Availability to travel up to 10%.
  • Work authorization to permit employment in the US.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ERP systems and software deployment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems.
