About the position

The ISP Network Construction Consultant role focuses on the construction and maintenance of ISP networks. The consultant will be responsible for tasks such as pulling, testing, terminating, and labeling structured network cabling, as well as mounting, connecting, testing, and troubleshooting network equipment. This position requires collaboration with team members to ensure timely project completion and high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Supports network construction efforts, including installation of new equipment, maintenance of existing equipment, and related tasks.
  • Leverages foundational knowledge and core abilities necessary to complete basic network construction tasks, including working with twisted pair copper cabling and/or fiber optic cables, installing radio mounts, pointing microwave point-to-point radios, and upgrading existing equipment.
  • Exercises solid judgment and tests/troubleshoots connections with limited guidance, for both residential and commercial customers.
  • Collaborates with team to complete projects in a timely manner, with the highest level of workmanship possible.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively, both internally with colleagues and externally during partner interactions.
  • May perform residential in-home customer installation work as needed.
  • Participates in on-call rotations as needed; understands urgency and prioritization.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of network construction and/or fiber splicing experience installing, repairing and testing fiber and twisted pair copper cabling.
  • 1+ year pulling, terminating and testing twisted pair copper cabling and fiber optics in residential and commercial environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting Ethernet network issues related to routers, switches and hubs.
  • Experience with rack and stack work, assembling server racks, telecom closet work, and patch panels.
  • Ability to terminate fiber optic cable utilizing a variety of connectors; experience using fusion splicers.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
