About the position

The ISS ECLSS Engineering Technician will support the ES62/ECLSS Team in various workloads, focusing on the building, repair, maintenance, wiring, and troubleshooting of vacuum systems, test stands, and other ground support equipment. This full-time position requires both physical labor and technical skills in mechanical, wiring, electrical, and plumbing systems related to Environmental Control Life Support (ECLSS) and Advanced Exploration Systems (AES).

Responsibilities

  • Support the ES62/ECLSS Team in daily workloads.
  • Perform building, repair, maintenance, wiring, and troubleshooting of vacuum systems and test stands.
  • Engage in physical labor including moving, lifting, and cleaning.
  • Work on mechanical, wiring, electrical, and plumbing tasks for ECLSS and AES.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and chemists to provide test support for NASA.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent; technical training in the applicable area of expertise.
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience or an AS degree with 6 years of experience.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools, ladders, and portable elevated work platforms.
  • Ability to work in awkward spaces due to simulator design.
  • Maintain all safety certifications pertinent to the ECLSS Development Branch.
  • Strong skillset in testing instrumentation and equipment is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is highly desired.
  • Teamwork and partnering skills are required.
