About the position

The Information Systems Security Manager II (ISSM II) at Watermark Risk Management International is responsible for overseeing the security of information systems, particularly within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies. The role involves advising on security policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with security standards. The ISSM II will lead the development and implementation of security programs, provide training, and manage security incidents, all while maintaining a focus on the organization's core values of integrity, communication, and balance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a principal advisor on security matters for information systems.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of information system security program policy.
  • Advise customers on Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessment and authorization issues.
  • Perform risk assessments and make recommendations to DoD agency customers.
  • Develop and maintain a formal Information Systems Security Program.
  • Ensure necessary training for IAOs, network administrators, and cybersecurity personnel.
  • Develop policies for responding to security incidents and ensure proper protection measures are in place.
  • Conduct periodic assessments of the security posture of authorization boundaries.
  • Ensure configuration management for security-relevant changes to software, hardware, and firmware.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance for Cyber Security and IT team members.

Requirements

  • 7-9 years of related experience in information security roles such as ISSO or ISSM.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience (4 years).
  • Must meet certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level II or Information Assurance Manager Level II.
  • Current Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance and eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
