About The Position

An outstanding firm in Bakersfield, CA is seeking an IT Audit Manager who will serve as the crucial liaison between the Partner, the client, and the staff. This managerial role involves overseeing multiple small business accounting projects and client engagements simultaneously, ensuring the delivery of quality client service while maintaining profitable client relationships. The IT Audit Manager will be responsible for scheduling, staffing, and coordinating engagement workflows, as well as developing and training staff to enhance their skills and capabilities. Additionally, the Manager will play a key role in business development by making associations that can lead to new business opportunities for the firm. The IT Audit Manager will manage and complete various financial and IT audit engagements of varying complexity, with a strong emphasis on quality standards, timely completion, and profitability. This includes ensuring that financial statements, audit opinion letters, service organization controls reports relevant to user entities, operations, compliance, and letters of recommendation are prepared in accordance with professional and firm standards. The Manager will keep partners informed of all significant developments on engagements, analyze problems, and recommend effective solutions. In this role, the Manager will plan, schedule, and staff engagements in alignment with the firm's policies and procedures, while also utilizing and enforcing standard firm and department procedures. The Manager will be proactive in resolving client issues and anticipating potential problem areas during engagements. They will assist other departments with accounting and financial reporting matters and act as a liaison for other accounting and consulting services provided by the firm. The IT Audit Manager will also assist in the preparation of proposals and engagement letters, supervise, train, and develop staff assigned to engagements, and conduct performance evaluations. They will prepare invoices for partner review and approval, communicate fee details to clients, and assist in the collection of past due client balances. Furthermore, the Manager will review and monitor engagement work-in-progress to ensure adherence to time and billing budgets. To maintain their professional edge, the Manager must meet current Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements for governmental and IT audit, while also keeping abreast of economic and political trends that could impact the business and industry.
