About the position

The IT Analyst IV position is a contract role focused on analyzing and improving workflows within the oil and gas industry, specifically in the areas of geology, geophysics, and reservoir engineering. The role involves leading cross-functional teams, managing software portfolios, and ensuring the successful delivery of digital solutions that align with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of fiber optic workflows and subsurface modelling business processes.
  • Develop and maintain detailed business process models, use cases, and functional specifications.
  • Lead solutions assessment and evaluation, developing evaluation decision criteria and solution selection criteria.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional project teams to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Enterprise and Alaska Digital Teams to solve complex data and solution design challenges.
  • Act as the direct business unit point of contact and project manager for data and application integrations.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver newly designed data, applications, and analytics solutions.
  • Manage the G&G Software Portfolio and Budget.
  • Provide input in the overall GGRE Roadmap.
  • Lead project and resource planning and execution in support of projects tied to GGRE Roadmap.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Geosciences, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • 5+ years of experience collaborating with Geology, Geophysics, and Reservoir Engineering domains.
  • Knowledge of Geoscience & Reservoir Engineering workflows, terminology, and software (e.g., Petrel, Techlog, Intersect, DELFI).
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of Cloud Environment and SaaS Solution Model.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodology and business analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Jira, Power BI.
  • Proficiency in Software Portfolio Management & Vendor Engagement.
  • Proficiency in OSDU industry standard, data management, solution architecture, and IT security.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
