About the position

The Clinical Registries Data Analyst at Duke Health is responsible for optimizing and supporting workflows related to data acquisition, management, and reporting for the Clinical Registries Team. This role involves gathering requirements, analyzing data, designing dashboards, and providing training to end users, with a focus on integrating automated data abstraction solutions and enhancing BI performance.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements and analyze data for the Clinical Registries Team.
  • Design and build dashboards and visualizations.
  • Provide support and training to end users.
  • Integrate automated data abstraction solutions, including AI.
  • Optimize performance of BI solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation such as business requirement documents (BRDs) and user manuals.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members.
  • Identify and solve basic business problems through data analysis.
  • Participate in team visualization reviews and special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or four years of equivalent technical experience required.
  • Basic understanding of local databases (Clarity; Caboodle) and underlying tables.
  • Basic proficiency in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
  • Ability to gather and document business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with basic data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency in performing complex data analysis, including trend analysis and forecasting.
  • SQL knowledge and ability to write/modify SQL queries independently.
  • Proficiency in using BI tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts and experience in designing data models.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with EPIC and healthcare data analytics, management, and reporting.
  • Experience with clinical quality reporting and project management.
