About the position

The IT Analyst III position at Walgreens involves developing and executing assignments that significantly impact complex components and processes within the IT functional area. This role requires independent judgment and creativity, focusing on the development and execution of the IT Operations strategy, the introduction of new components and applications, and the creation of an IT Operations metrics dashboard. The analyst will be responsible for operational activities that enhance consumer awareness and market share, while also supporting various initiatives within the organization. In this role, the IT Analyst III will interpret results and analyze trends, ensuring that the strategies of the functional area align with expected outcomes. The analyst will monitor these strategies and recommend or implement necessary adjustments. Additionally, the position involves contributing to the planning and implementation of a wide range of activities aimed at meeting organizational objectives, developing tactical plans, and preparing related program budgets. The analyst will also participate in the development of programs that establish and enhance standards, while identifying and establishing relationships with both internal and external partners. As a subject matter advisor, the analyst may become actively involved in resolving complex problems and ensuring that defects in assigned projects are tracked and presented to management. The role requires proactive problem anticipation and prevention, as well as sharing information cross-functionally to improve workflow processes. The IT Analyst III will also provide subject matter expertise to less experienced team members, potentially participating in their training and development.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes operational activities impacting important components/processes of the specified IT work function.
  • Interprets results and analyzes trends to enhance consumer awareness and market share.
  • Reviews alignment of functional area strategies with assumed outcomes and recommends adjustments.
  • Contributes to planning and implementing activities to meet objectives.
  • Develops tactical plans and prepares related program budgets.
  • Participates in the development of programs that establish and enhance standards.
  • Identifies and establishes relationships with internal/external partners.
  • Acts as a subject matter advisor and resolves complex problems as required.
  • Develops and enhances processes to support established standards.
  • Ensures defects in assigned projects are tracked and presented to management.
  • Anticipates and prevents problems and roadblocks before they occur.
  • Shares information cross-functionally to improve workflow processes.
  • Participates in the development of business approaches and new or enhanced processes.
  • Provides subject matter expertise to less experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in IT, Finance, Strategy, Analytics, and/or Operations OR High school/GED and at least 5 years of experience in Finance, IT, Strategy, Analytics, and/or Operations.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community, and with vendors.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing, organizing, and tracking details to meet deadlines of multiple projects.
  • Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results.
  • Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Experience with project management, including planning, organizing, and managing resources.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in IT, Finance, Strategy, Analytics, and/or Operations OR High school/GED and at least 7 years of experience in Finance, IT, Strategy, Analytics, and/or Operations.
  • Master's Degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Experience working in the IT Industry is highly preferred.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization.
  • ITIL certification is preferred.
  • Experience with driving IT Operations Strategy initiatives.
  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint is highly preferred.
  • Data analysis background will be helpful.
