About the position

SLAIT Consulting is currently seeking a Senior IT Systems Analyst for a contract position in Richmond, VA. The Senior IT Systems Analyst will provide technical support to financial applications within the Enterprise Business Technology Solutions (eBTS) department. These critical applications include but are not limited to the support of the following internal functions: Financial Close and Financial Reporting, Travel Expense Management, and Audit and Compliance. A successful candidate will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of specific, advanced technology to provide solutions that meet business needs. They must be flexible and easily adapt to multiple different work assignment types/projects based on business needs. The Senior IT Systems Analyst must manage daily RTS activities, issue resolution, and communication within teams and business functional areas. They must build strong relationships with internal Finance customers, continuously strive to improve efficiency, and maintain a focus on IT controllership. The role requires working closely with business users and other stakeholders to ensure their requirements and SLAs are captured and maintained. This position is critical in ensuring that the financial applications operate smoothly and effectively, contributing to the overall success of the organization. The analyst will be expected to leverage their technical expertise to identify and implement improvements, ensuring that the financial systems are robust and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to financial applications within the eBTS department.
• Manage daily RTS activities and issue resolution.
• Communicate effectively within teams and business functional areas.
• Build strong relationships with internal Finance customers.
• Continuously strive to improve efficiency and maintain IT controllership.
• Work closely with business users and stakeholders to capture and maintain requirements and SLAs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from a 4-Year Institution or Equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience working in the IT industry.
• 3+ years of experience providing technical leadership.
• Expertise in application server administration, scripting, and application programming.
• Ability to recognize which technologies are best suited for solving different types of business problems.
• Solid understanding of data and database concepts and query languages, particularly T-SQL and PL/SQL.
• Ability to manage, identify, and communicate risk, issues, and opportunities.
• Understanding of basic information security concepts, including security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Ability to work with vendor and third-party products.
• Ability to administer enterprise-level applications that have a direct impact on the organization.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of application development experience.
• Understanding of finance functions.
• Proficiency in ASP.NET/C# and IIS.
• Understanding of basic network concepts and components, with knowledge of Internet protocols.
• Understanding of basic application design concepts, including scripting, programming languages, deployment, and the software development lifecycle.
