About the position

The IT Analyst, Staff Specialist - EMR (Epic/Willow) is responsible for overseeing the support and maintenance of Willow applications within the UVA Medical Center. This role involves instructing and directing other systems analysis and programming personnel, formulating system scope and objectives for projects, and ensuring quality assurance. The position requires extensive technical knowledge and the ability to solve complex problems while acting as a project lead on small to medium initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, direct, and check the work of systems analysis and programming personnel supporting Willow applications.
• Formulate and define system scope and objectives for assigned projects.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews and ensure compliance with standards.
• Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering equipment capacity and limitations.
• Confer with departmental managers to determine requirements and provide optimal solutions.
• Develop specifications, program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Direct, monitor, and evaluate the work of team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience, with relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• Epic certification in primary application(s) required.
