About the position

The IT Analyst at Timken Company is a pivotal role that focuses on providing comprehensive IT support to ensure efficient operations and compliance with systems. The IT Analyst will be responsible for both functional and technical guidance on various projects and ongoing support requirements, making it essential for the candidate to possess a strong understanding of information systems technologies and their application in a business context. In this role, the IT Analyst will provide cross-functional support and direction on the use of technology tools, ensuring that business projects across different functional groups are supported effectively. A key aspect of the position involves understanding the relationships between multi-functional groups, including corporate systems and divisional groups, to facilitate smooth operations. The IT Analyst will also administer network communications between the plant and corporate office, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. The responsibilities extend to providing system support and programming as needed within the facility, as well as understanding the plant's information flow—both manual and automated—and its dependencies. Continuous support and improvement of this flow are critical to the role. The IT Analyst will lead and coordinate significant projects, managing scope, timing, cost, and communication with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, the IT Analyst will evaluate and make decisions regarding computer equipment, operating systems, and program issues, often dealing with complex variables. Compliance with company policies, including user access, system backups, disaster recovery, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, is a fundamental responsibility. The role also involves utilizing various techniques and technologies to deliver prescribed service levels and drive process improvements across all components of the Timken architecture, including server management, network management, and application delivery. Timely resolution of hardware or network equipment issues is essential, as is support for site-level applications and equipment, which includes a range of systems such as SPC, Active Directory, VMware, and SAP MII.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in informational systems technologies.
  • Provide cross functional support and direction on the use of technology tools.
  • Support business projects across functional groups.

  • Provide system support and programming where needed in this facility.
  • Understand the plant's information flow, both manual and automated, and their dependencies, and provide continual support and improvement in this flow.
  • Lead and/or coordinate significant projects including scope, timing, cost, and communication at various stages of the project to different stakeholders.
  • Leverage technology and facility design to improve business/distribution operations.
  • Carry out assignments requiring the development of new or improved processes.
  • Evaluate and make decisions on computer equipment, operating system, and/or program problems used at the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies including user access, quarterly reviews, system backup, off-site storage, disaster recovery, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Utilize techniques, technologies, and implementation methods to deliver prescribed levels of service and drive process improvement in all components of the Timken architecture.
  • Resolve hardware or network equipment issues in a timely fashion, either directly or working with others.
  • Support site level applications and equipment including SPC, Active Directory, Production Servers, VMware, Veeam, LAN/WAN and networking, Shop Floor DNC, GE/Fanuc/Ifix applications, Andon SFV Systems, SAP MII, GAF IT Systems Databases, and Terminal server administration.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in IT, Business, or Related field with 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor Degree in IT, Business, or Related field with 0-3 years of related experience.
  • US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
