The IT Analyst at Timken Company is a pivotal role that focuses on providing comprehensive IT support to ensure efficient operations and compliance with systems. In this role, the IT Analyst will provide cross-functional support and direction on the use of technology tools, ensuring that business projects across different functional groups are supported effectively. A key aspect of the position involves understanding the relationships between multi-functional groups, including corporate systems and divisional groups, to facilitate smooth operations. The IT Analyst will also administer network communications between the plant and corporate office, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. The responsibilities extend to providing system support and programming as needed within the facility, as well as understanding the plant's information flow—both manual and automated—and its dependencies. Continuous support and improvement of this flow are critical to the role. The IT Analyst will lead and coordinate significant projects, managing scope, timing, cost, and communication with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, the IT Analyst will evaluate and make decisions regarding computer equipment, operating systems, and program issues, often dealing with complex variables. Compliance with company policies, including user access, system backups, disaster recovery, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, is a fundamental responsibility. The role also involves utilizing various techniques and technologies to deliver prescribed service levels and drive process improvements across all components of the Timken architecture, including server management, network management, and application delivery. Timely resolution of hardware or network equipment issues is essential, as is support for site-level applications and equipment, which includes a range of systems such as SPC, Active Directory, VMware, and SAP MII.
